District Meeting

High Tea

Montgomery Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. held a High Tea on Feb. 12, 2013 at the Dalraida United Methodist Church, Montgomery at 2 p.m. Under the leadership of Linda Silverman, President, the tea was the second annual tea held. Each club in the Federation sponsored a table of eight people, sold the tickets, set the table with appropriate porcelain, namely small luncheon plates, cups and saucers and a tea pot previously warmed to ensure hot tea. members of the Federation not sponsoring a table prepared the tiny sandwiches, cheese straws, fruit, confections and a wide variety of flavorful teas for partaking. Centerpieces of fresh flowers adorned each table, designed by participating members mostly of bright spring flowers. A table full of door prizes excited everyone while Mary Helen Mahan circulated a basket of goodies which was being raffled. Goodwill Industries presented their Titanic Fashion Show, with authentic clothing of the 1900’s cleverly displayed and narrated by Auxiliary Volunteers.
